Maria Gomez ( Speredon) was lucky enough to marry into a wrestling family, this wrestler captured her heart 21 yrs ago and they are the proud parents of 6 wrestlers, she was introduced to the world of club wrestling by her friend John Fager and its history from there. Her Gratitude to every person that has had a dynamic positive influence in her journey of creating female wrestling opportunities is attributed to all those that continue to grow the sport. It has taken a village. She is an educator and the state academic director for USA wrestling Utah. She is a member of the UHSAA Female Equity/Sanctioning Sports Committee. The last 5 years she has applied her skills and knowledge in growing the sport and advocating for girls on the mat and off. Maria was awarded the USA Wrestling Utah Parent of the Year. She is the First Woman in the State to Register An All Girls Club and Own and Direct An All Girls Tournament ( Amazonian Battle Series) She is grateful and honored to be apart of a group of strong female coaches and male coaches that care to support girls wrestling and that stand in unity in building resilient, driven, fierce young women through this great sport of wrestling.
Coach Head Coach
Coach Dedee hails from Alaska as a High School Champion and National her career is vast in the experience of being one of the pioneers in Alaska spearheading girls wrestling, she is grateful to continue the great work as a coach and passing the skills and technique needed to become a champion. Coach Deedee has been recruited to attend Menlo College to Wrestle and we are excited what that journey will take her and we know she will come back with some GOLDS. Congrats
Coach Leslie Hails from the Islands of Hawaii as she wrestled in her youth and through her High School Career she has a passion of a true warrior and knows what it takes to become an elite competitive athlete she has served as an Assistant High School Coach for Kahuku High School Wrestling program and now is NUGW Head Coach she will be training our wrestlers for out of state competitions and nationals and we are lucky to have her be apart of our program.
2X Nigerian Olympian and now NUGW Freestyle and Greco Coach, we are honored to have Amarachi on our team and as her self an inspiring athlete she brings a level of mental fortitude, competition and ambition to the team.
Cheri Webster’s: dynamic, fun, contagious personality sets our Youth Coach as the funnest of the bunch! She has trained on the mat for the last two years, her background in fitness and nutrition is pivotal in the methods we use in training our girls. Her 15 years experience as a wrestling mom of 3 and an ALL American wrestler gives our team seasoned comfort in one of our pivotal leaders, she has loved this sport and is excited to give back to the youth as wrestling has given to her.
